দ্য বেঙ্গল পোস্ট প্রতিবেদন, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, ২৩ ডিসেম্বর: আসন্ন প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসে (২৬ জানুয়ারি) দেশের রাজধানী দিল্লির রাজপথে কুচকাওয়াজে অংশ গ্রহণ করার সুযোগ পেয়েছে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের প্রতিষ্ঠিত নৃত্য সংস্থা ‘তালম’ (Talam)। তবে, এই সুযোগ সহজে মেলেনি। কেন্দ্রের তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতি মন্ত্রক আয়োজিত জাতীয় স্তরের প্রতিযোগিতায় সফল হওয়ার পর, জেলা শহর মেদিনীপুরের এই নৃত্য সংস্থাকে বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে। ‘বন্দে ভারতম’ নামক এই প্রতিযোগিতার চূড়ান্ত পর্যায়ে সারাদেশের যে ২৫ টি দলকে বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে, তার মধ্যে আছে মেদিনীপুর শহরের নৃত্য শিল্পী রাজীব খান ও সহেলী বেরা খান পরিচালিত ‘তালম’ (Talam)। স্বভাবতই এই খবরে খুশি মেদিনীপুরবাসী! খুশি এই সংস্থার নৃত্য শিল্পীরা।
উল্লেখ্য যে, প্রথমে জেলা ও রাজ্য স্তরের প্রতিযোগিতায় সফল হওয়ার পর, জাতীয় পর্যায়ে অংশ নেওয়ার সুযোগ পেয়েছিল মেদিনীপুর শহরের এই নৃত্য সংস্থা। কলকাতার সায়েন্স সিটি অডিটরিয়ামে গত ৯ ডিসেম্বর ইস্ট জোনের (পূর্বাঞ্চলের) যে ২৬ টি নৃত্য দল যোগ দিয়েছিল, তার মধ্যে ৭ টি দল জাতীয় পর্যায়ে যোগ দেওয়ার জন্য মনোনীত হয়েছিল। ‘তালম’ ছিল তাদের অন্যতম। এরপর, গত ১৯ ডিসেম্বর জাতীয় পর্যায়ের গ্র্যান্ড ফিনালে-তে সারা দেশের মোট ৭১ টি নৃত্য দল যোগ দিয়েছিল। তার মধ্যে যে ২৫ টি দল প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসের কুচকাওয়াজে অংশগ্রহণের জন্য মনোনীত হয়েছে, মেদিনীপুরের ‘তালম’ তার মধ্যে অন্যতম।
উল্লেখ্য যে, গ্র্যান্ড ফিনালে-তে প্রতিটি দল মাত্র ৩ মিঃ করে সময় পেয়েছিল। ফিউশন বিভাগে ‘তালম’ তুলে ধরেছিল রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের “ও আমার দেশের মাটি তোমার পরে ঠেকাই মাথা” গানের সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ নৃত্যশৈলী। সংস্থা’র দুই কর্ণধার যথাক্রমে রাজীব ও সহেলী জানিয়েছেন, “কৃষিপ্রধান ভারতবর্ষের কৃষ্টি ও সংস্কৃতির সঙ্গে ওতপ্রোতভাবে জড়িয়ে আছে মাটি। এই মাটিই আমাদের মা। কবিগুরুর এই বিখ্যাত গানের মাধ্যমে আমরা, মায়ের আঁচল তলে ছোট থেকে বড় হয়ে ওঠা, আবার সেই আঁচল তলে বিলীন হয়ে যাওয়ার থিম তুলে ধরেছিলাম”। আর, তালমের শিল্পীদের অসাধারণ শৈলীতে মুগ্ধ হয়েছেন জাতীয় স্তরের বিচারকেরা। মেদিনীপুরের এই সংস্থাকে বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে কুচকাওয়াজের মূল অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণের জন্য। (দেখে নিন তালমের চূড়ান্ত পর্যায়ের পারফরম্যান্স:)

Following the success of the national level competition organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture of the Center, this dance troupe from the district town of Medinipur has been selected. Among the 25 teams selected from across the country in the final round of the ‘Bande Bharatam’ competition is ‘Talam’ directed by Rajin Khan, a dancer from Medinipur and Saheli Bera Khan. Since then, a total of 61 dance troupes from across the country have participated in the national level grand finale on December 19. In the fusion section, ‘Talam’ featured a dance style consistent with Rabindranath Tagore’s song “O Amar Desh Mati Tomar Pare Thekai Mata”.
